Student Research Assistant (HiWi) in Programming and Experimental Physics (Optics)

 

We are looking for a Student Research Assistant (HiWi) starting in June to support the development and implementation of an algorithm for the automated fine alignment of optomechanical setups in an experimental research environment.

Tasks

  • Development of an algorithm for the automated fine alignment of optomechanical components
  • Implementation and testing of the software in Python directly on the experimental setup
  • Analysis and optimization of alignment processes with respect to stability and efficiency
  • Support in integrating the algorithm into existing measurement and control systems

 

Profile

  • Studies in physics or a related field
  • Strong programming skills in Python and experience in structured problem solving
  • Interest in experimental work and physical setups
  • Basic knowledge or practical experience in optics / laser systems
  • Desirable: experience with data analysis or automation of experiments
  • Independent, analytical, and solution-oriented working style
